Originally built in the early 1900s and left in disrepair after Hurricane Katrina, Campeche is a labor of love by a small group of locals living nearby. Purchased in the spring of 2015, a full renovation gave us eight beautiful suites, a charming common space with kitchen, and two large porches sitting on half an acre right in the middle of the city. We can host 34 people total, and have a huge backyard perfect for smaller events.

Our name and our spirit are both inspired by Jean Lafitte, a name bigger than life in our part of the world. To us, he symbolizes adventure, exploration, and the deep and colorful history of New Orleans. His compound in Texas was named Campeche, and the color of our building is an homage to his home La Maison Rouge.

Take a walk in our neighborhood of Mid-City and you might come across a parade, Mr. Okra selling produce out of his unique truck, or a miniature horse on a leash (there's a neighborhood pig, too!). We're just two blocks from the Lafitte Greenway, eight blocks to Jazz Fest and City Park, and six blocks to the streetcar. We're walking distance from the brand new Broad Theater, several coffee shops, and Whole Foods.

The perfect mix of local love and easy access to downtown, we hope you'll come stay with us at Campeche.
